How to get a completely Free eBay Store

by Aditya on January 23, 2009

An ebay store costs around $50 to $100. I have already written about Affomatic’s eBay wordpress plugin which enables you to display ebay affiliate listing on your wordpress blog. But the plugin in no term meant an exclusive eBay store creation. It was like putting your affiliate eBay ads. But now Affomatic has something new to offer – a free eBay store. Sounds impossible but true.

Affomatic’s eBay store is a simple plug and play web eBay store builder service with no expenses. You do not even need to credit them or give a link back to them, your store is free without any obligation. You just need to subscribe to Affomatic.com, download the store script, upload it on your server and go and promote it.

Getting a website on a domain for free

Although Affomatic’s eBay store is free but you need to upload it to your server and get yourself a domain name for the script to be working. To make it really free, I would suggest you to use Co.cc domain name and 000Webhost hosting. Co.cc will give you free domain name with all the features of a .com domain like DNS forwarding, URL forwarding and records setup. 000Webhost will provide you free server with 150 MB storage and 100 GB bandwith. This is more than enough for an average website. Once you get your domain and server, you can depend on 000webhost’s help for setting up your website.

Setting up eBay store

Once you have finished getting yourself a domain name and a web-hosting, it is time to build an eBay store. The guys at Affomatic have themselves made the process so simple that it will take you just 15 minutes to get your store up and running. Just follow the steps below:

1. Download the script from Affomatic.

2. Open the file stuffochange.php

3. Change $siteurl to your website url

4. put your ebay affiliate id in $ebayaffiliateid”your_affiliate_id”

7. Put you keywords in this file(each keyword or phrase in new line). These keywords or key-phrases will determine the type of articles listed in your eBay store.

8. Save the file.

9. Upload the file on your 000webhost server.

10. Your eBay store is ready.

I have never opened up an eBay store to sell things on eBay, but from your depiction of the program, it may be worth doing! Thanks for the information!
