Someone by the name Amay asked me via e-mail if it was possible to take out all the images present in a PDF file and store them in a folder? I have done that many times and so without delay, I helped him. But for those that do not know how to extract all images from a PDF file and store them in a folder, here is a simple 4 step tutorial.
For the purpose of extracting images from a PDF file and store them in a folder, I use ‘Some PDF Image Extract’. ‘Some PDF Image Extract’ is a free utility that you need to download and install. Once, you have installed and settled the software in some 1.68 MB memory of constraint of your hard disk, follow the steps below:
1. Go to File and browse for the PDF file from which the image is to be extracted.
2. The software interface has a left panel. In the left panel you can define the folder in which all the image files will be extracted and stored. You can also set image formats from this panel like picture formats such as TIFF, JPEG, BMP, GIF, PNG, TGA, PBM, PPM, as well as the image quality and gray scale.
3. Click on ‘start’ button to start extracting images from the PDF file you specified.
4. Once all the 3 steps are done, you can find all the image files in the output folder you defined in step 2.
‘Some PDF Image Extract’ is compatible with Windows 2000/NT/XP/2003/Vista and is free. You can download the latest version by clicking here.
