youtube1 150x150 How to Watch Restricted or Flagged Videos on YouTube – A Little TrickIndonesia, Turkey and Thailand are some of the countries that have banned YouTube before. There are some videos that have been blocked by YouTube to avoid disputes arising out of some inappropriate content of the video that might affect the country audience. Global distribution rights are another cause of some YouTube videos getting blocked for people of some countries. If you try to access such videos, you will find the following notice – “This video is not available in your country” or something alike.

However, there is a little trick to get access to the videos you would like to watch but is restricted in your country. The trick is very simple and doesn’t require any software or tools as such.

Suppose a video is located at - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TEchravings (this link is just for example and it doesn’t point to any video). Suppose, you would love to watch the video but it is restricted in your country for one or the other reason.

Now what you need to do is remove “watch?” and replace the “=” symbol with “/”. Now the original video URL will be replaced as -

http://www.youtube.com/v/TEchravings

This trick also works if you happened to get the following notice for some video -

This video or group may contain content that is inappropriate for some users, as flagged by YouTube’s user community.

By clicking “Confirm”, you are agreeing that all videos or groups flagged by the YouTube community will be viewable by this account.

Gee, didn’t know the fullscreen-trick worked in that way as well. However, the fullscreen trick doesn’t work when ‘embedding is disabled by request’.

Neat trick anyway.
