I have often been in a rush to access files and folders and this really becomes complicated when you are in that rush on a regular basis. An easy way to satisfy your urgency of accessing a file or folder may be accomplished by creating files/folders shortcuts on your desktop. However, cluttering your dektop with loads of shortcuts makes the thing even more messy and complicated. Now there is a tool called Hawkscope which allows its users to access to any file or folder through a dynamic pop-up menu.

To use this dynamic pop-up menu, you just need to download and install the utility. Once installed and launched, you will notice a small icn in your system tray. Click on the icon and click on ‘settings’ to set up initial set-up of the appliction. To setup quick access location, just go to “Quick Access” tab and then browse for folders you would like to add to the quick access facility. If you would like to eliminate folders from the ‘quick access’ , you can include them in ‘Blacklist’ by clicking on ‘blacklist’ tab. There is also an option to make specific plugins or applications open certain directories at their own preference.

Hawkscope is a small utility that occupies less than 2 MB and is compatible with most Windows OS including Windows 98, 2000, XP and Server 2008. The utility has only one prerequisite.
