Use Google Map to track the Swine Flu Spread

One of the most trending topics of social media and news is finding of a new strain of the H1N1 influenza virus and its rapid spread from Mexico to United States and Canada. After the discovery of outbreak of swine flu in United States, the virus is suspected in most continents all over the world. The rising concern about this virus and the threat to human life has led a US based Biomedical Researcher, Niman, to create the ‘swine flu tracking map’ on Google Maps.

To view the full list of outbreak, you can just click on the link beneath the map. The latest updates about the suspected and confirmed cases of swine flu are constantly fed into the system. You can zoom out or zoom in either get the overall view or to focus on a specific country.

The ‘swine flu tracking map’ is marked by various colors to identify the status of swine flu spread in a particular area. Various colored map pins used are: pink map pins for suspected cases; purple for confirmed, yellow for negative, and the lack of a black dot in the middle of the map pins to signify deaths.
