Automagically optimize your Blog Images for SEO

Almost all bloggers add images in their blog posts. Besides enhancing readability and understanding of blog posts, images can also be utilised for SEO. Adding Alt and Title Attributes to images can greatly improve your search engine rankings. However, adding these attributes properly is not that easy for a newbie. For such a SEO newbie, there is an awesome plugin called ‘SEO Friendly Images’ which adds title and alternative attributes to all your blog images and optimizes them for SEO automagically.

Once you have downloaded, installed and activated SEO Friendly Images plugin, you will notice few options under Settings Section in your WordPress Admin Dashboard. Here you can enter alt and title attributes to optimize all your blog images.

You can enter any text in the field including two special tags:

• %title – replaces post title
• %name – replaces image file name (without extension)
• %category – replaces post category

This plugin is a must-have for wordpress bloggers. This plugin is seriously awesome in the sense that it adds alt and title attribute to hundreds of blog images that you previously missed. I would suggest using ‘%title’ in Title attribute and ‘%name photo’ in alt attribute. Using ‘%title’ in Title attribute is far better than having nothing as image title attribute. Also, adding ‘%name photo’ in alt attribute uses name of the image (without extension) in alt tag.
