When you send an email over a public WiFi network, you create opportunities for hackers to hack your account and get your valuable data. It should be kept in mind that WiFi spots are built for the sake of public convenience and not for security. So does that mean that you cannot send secure emails over a public WiFi network? No it is not so. You can surely send secure emails over a public WiFi network by using a free online service named Secrets.


In a sentence, Secrets is a free online service that lets you send encrypted emails. Using Secrets is very easy. Just login with your Gmail account and enter your details. Once you have logged in, click on the ‘compose’ button and type the email address of the recipient and the message and finally, click on the ‘Encrypt and Send button’. A Windows will pop-up asking you to create a password. This password should be told to your recipient via other communication medium like SMS, telephone, etc. The recipient will need to enter this password for decrypting your email.

Secrets uses 64 bit DES encryption logarithm by default which can be changed other algorithms such as Triple DES (128 bit), AES-Rijndael (up to 256 bit), Blowfish (up to 448 bit) and ArcFour (up to 2048 bit). You can choose anyone of the four algorithms for sending secured emails in public hotspots.
