It will be really easy to execute Windows command if you can use numeric keypad on your keyboard for the purpose. This will let you launch a program/application and execute commands faster and easier. ControlPad is an application which lets you do this and makes it easy for you to execute any Windows command or program.
Using ControlPad, you can execute any program, open any website, open documents and send any series of keystrokes to the operating system using numeric keypad of your keyboard. Once you have downloaded, installed and launched ControlPad, you will see that it will reside in your computer’s system tray.
To configure ControlPad, proceed as follows:
- Press and hold * key until a small window (Input Window) pops up.
- Enter the numeric code you want, followed by ‘/’.
- Hit Enter.
- Another small window (Command Window) will pop up.
- Enter the command which you wish to be executed on entering numeric code you defined in step 2.
- Hit Enter again.
For example: If you want to open TechRavings.info homepage by using key 1, then key in ‘1/’ in input window and hit Enter, then enter ‘www.techravings.info’ at the command window and press enter. Now when you press numeric key 1, TechRavings homepage will launched automatically.
ControlPad is a freeware and comes in two versions – installation version (which requires you to install ControlPad application) and portable version (which requires no installation).
