A secure way to post email address on Twitter, Forums and other Social Networks

Many of the spam bots are out there in the social media networks and they generally gather email by searching for ‘@’ symbols. I have already written about Scr.im service which lets you protect your email address by providing a short and secure URL for your email. However, most of the forums do not allows posting links (URLs) and thus this service proves futile over there.

Another very cool option of securing email is by coding it into an image file. This will prevent your email from being crawled into search engines and also from the spam bots. TxtNinja is a free online service that helps you in the process. It converts your text into a GIF image with customizable fonts and color and provides you a direct link to the image and also an embed code for embedding the image into forums, blogs, etc.

The only downside of TxtNinja is that the choice of fonts and colors are very limited and they are not the common web fonts either.

Try TxtNinja

Hi Aditya,

This sounds a real life saver . Have you tried it yet ? The File type .GIF only seems to be quite limited resource where most sites allow JPEG and PNG as well.

BTW I’m gonna give it a try and let you know, how it works out for me.

Thanks for the post.
