GIFSoup: Turn YouTube videos into Animated GIFs

by Aditya on September 13, 2009

GIFSoup.com is a web app that lets you turn any YouTube video into an animated gif image. Using GIFSoup is very simple and pretty straightforward.

For the start, just go to GIFSoup website and enter link of a YouTube video. The YouTube video will be downloaded to their servers in few seconds and you will be allowed to customize your animated gif. For customizations, there is nothing lot to do. You can only enter a gif image title and set 10 seconds duration of the video clip which has to be turned into an animated gif. GIFSoup allows only 10 seconds of a YouTube video for conversion into animated gif. After you have done these, just click on preview and if everything looks fine, click on ‘finish’.

The animated gif will be then rolled out on a webpage with the download links. The image download is available in many sizes – Avatar size (100x100px), Signature Size (250x200px) and Original Size. You can choose to download any or all of the image sizes.
