How To: Set up two monitors on Windows 7 PC
Configuring Windows 7 to use two monitors (screens) is very simple and pretty straightforward. Actually, there are two ways to set it up – a conventional system properties method and a smart shortcut method. In this post, we shall see how to do it by both the methods.
Method 1 (The Keyboard Shortcut Method):
Step 1: Simply press the ‘Windows’ key and ‘P’ key on your keyboard simultaneously.
Step 2: A pop-up menu will appear. Here, you can pick to show only the computer, make the second monitor a duplicate of the first, extend the desktop to the second monitor or turn off the first monitor and activate the second.
Step 3: Click on the appropriate option and enjoy!
Method 2 (Enabling Double Screen from System Properties):
Step 1: Go to desktop of your Windows 7 PC.
Step 2: Right click on Windows 7 desktop and choose ‘Screen Resolution’ from right click drop down menu.
Step 3: Click on the ‘Multiple Displays’ roller button and you will see four options. You can pick to show only the computer, make the second monitor a duplicate of the first, extend the desktop to the second monitor or turn off the first monitor and activate the second.
Step 4: Choose the appropriate option from ‘Multiple Displays’ drop menu and relish the accomplishment!
