Legal download of 3 Idiots will be available on YouTube

Piracy is a major threat which accounts for a great loss to producers of entertainment and application development industry. It is indeed not possible to stop users from downloading movies and songs from torrents or other file sharing sources. To fight back against piracy, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the producer of 3 Idiots (a Bollywood movie), has announced that the movie will be released for legal downloads on YouTube.

Vidhu says that the official and legal download of 3 Idiots would be released on YouTube after eight to ten weeks of official box office release. YouTube will allow users to download the complete movie at a fixed price. Though the download price is yet not disclosed, it is expected that the charge will be equal to the cost of the DVD.

There is no effective solution to fight back against piracy. But this move by producers of 3 Idiots will surely help reduce piracy as a majority of people will opt for a legal download to get the perfect audio and video quality.
