Google Reader now creates custom feeds for websites without RSS

A recent addition to Google Reader’s features is its capability to create/generate custom feeds for websites that do not offer feed subscription. For instance, BlogAds.com is a static page which does not allow feed subscription. In case you would like to subscribe to the site’s changes, Google Reader now provides you ability to create a custom feed for the website and allows you to keep up with any new developments that the website will see in future.

To utilise this functionality of Google Reader, all you need to do is log in to your Google Reader account and the click on “add a subscription” button. Now enter a web page URL that you would like to monitor for changes. In case the webpage entered does not provide feeds subscription option, Google Reader will prompt you to create a custom feed for it. You can click on the appropriate button to create a custom feed for a web page of your choice.

This functionality is sure to come handy when you are willing to monitor changes happening on a static web page. This feature works very well with websites like Microsoft and Apple which update their website with product launches but do not offer feed subscription.
