Backupify is an online tool which lets you back up your social networking profiles and web-based data. Most of our data, nowadays, is hosted on one or the other website. For instance, most of our pictures are hosted on Flickr or on our social networking profiles. Many people believe that this data is safe and there is no chance of losing this web-based data. However, the fact is that there may be a chance of losing this data. A major glitch or in an even of hacking, you may lose your data stored on web servers. An easy way to avoid such mishap is by backing up your web data.

Backupify allows you to back up your data on Flickr, Facebook, Basecamp, Gmail, Twitter, Google Docs, Wordpress, Photobucket, Blogger, Delicious and FriendFeed accounts. All you need to do is create an account at Backupify and authenticate or give your login credentials for the web accounts you would like to backup. Your web data will be automatically backed up and you will be sent a confirmation e-mail after each backup.

In the same arena, you’ll find Silentale: we consolidate and store contacts and messages from your emails and social networks (twitter, facebook, linkedin) to provide you with a 360° view of your network and the complete history of your conversations. It is more than a simple backup of your social lifestream, it is a structured and searchable archive, in which you can easily find and retrieve any information, wherever and whenever you exchanged it. We’re Saas, on the Amazon cloud, and open: developers are already building apps and additional touchpoints to help you track your conversations from your mobile, desktop, etc.
If you’re interested, tweet @lbret and I’ll be pleased to send you one or more invitations to our private beta.
Laurence Bret, Silentale Marketing
