Google Alert is an awesome service. It sends you recent happenings from across the globe about the things of your interest. This utility offered by Google can be used to generate some quick quality baclinks for your blog. With 10 or 15 minutes of work, you will be able to add 10 to 15 high quality backlinks for your blog everyday. So without wasting any more of our time, lets get started.

To make this thing simple and easy to understand, I have decided to decompose this post into simpler and easier to understand steps.

1. Go to Google Alerts (http://www.google.com/alerts)

2. Create an alert for keywords relating to your blog niche and select ‘Blogs’ from type drop-down menu. Select ‘once a day’ from how often drop-down menu (this doesn’t fill up your email inbox with countless emails) and select appropriate option from Email length drop-down menu.

3. Now just take out 15 minutes of your time to go through these blogs and post quick comments. It is suggested that you throw a look at the post content before posting a comment. Further, post a comment that is relevant to the article and enter your website link in the field specified for it and not in your comment. This way your comment won’t go into spam.

Now even if you do just 10 posts a day, you will be adding 300 quality baclinks to your blog every month.

Keywords are probably the single most important aspect of all seo activities which are necessary for your web site to get higher search engine rankings. Most search engines take into count the keyword density within a web page while evaluating its ranking and importance in the search engine ranking pages.

Keyword density is an indicator of the number of times the selected keyword appears on the web page. But mind you, keywords shouldn’t be over used or spammed, but should be just sufficient enough to appear at important places.

If you repeat your keywords with every other word on every line, then your site will probably be rejected as an artificial site or spam site and also you can get banned by the search engines.

Keyword density is always calculated as a percentage of the total word content on a given web page. Suppose you have 100 words on your webpage excluding HMTL code used for writing the web page, and you use a certain keyword for five times in the content. The keyword density on that page is got by simply dividing the total number of keywords, by the total number of words that appear on your web page. So here it is 5 divided by 100 = .05 because keyword density is a percentage of the total word count on the page, multiply the above by 100, that is 0.05 x 100 = 5%

The usual standard for a keyword density is between 3% and 6%, to get recognized by the search engines and you should never exceed it.

Remember, that this imperative applies to every page on your site. It also applies to not just to one keyword but also a set of keywords that relates to a different product or service offered by you. The keyword density should always be between 3% and 6%.

Here is the simple step to check the keyword density:

1. Copy and paste the content from an individual web page into a word-processing software program like Word.
2. Go to the Edit menu>click Select All. Now go to the Tools menu>select ‘Word Count’. Write down the total number of words on the page.
3. Now select the ‘Find’ function on the ‘Edit’ menu. Go to the ‘Replace’ tab and type in the keyword you want to find. ‘Replace’ that word with the same word, so you don’t change the text.
4. When you complete the replace function, the system will provide a count of the words you replaced. That gives the number of times you have used the keyword in that page.
5. Using the total word count for the page and the total number of keywords you can now calculate the keyword density.

Now you will have to insert the URL of your post, Meta tags and descriptions to this code.

Repeat this for all other posts, and insert the code over the line which says “place future descriptions and keywords here” So every time you do this there will always be that last line of code waiting for another dynamic Meta tags and descriptions.

Repeat this for every post you wrote, including your home page. Wait a few weeks and you will notice a sudden traffic increase from search engines such as Google, Yahoo and many more.

If you are using social media like Twitter for your blog promotion and you are using WordPress as your blogging platform, here is a plugin you must consider using. A new SEO tool has been launched. I do not actually know its launching date. But I am quite sure it is new. Named as Link Checker v2.0, the software is still in Beta. Link Checker v2.0 will fetch all your site backlinks with homepage PR, no follow or not and anchor text.

Frankly, there is nothing new that this software provides but the best thing is that it organizes backlinks in such a way that it provides you with maximum understanding of the quality of links you get. The tool tells you whether the backlinks you get is healthy or not.

If you get a large share of your blog’s traffic from search engines and the ‘Bounce Rate’ is high, you need to do something very seriously about this. Bounce rate is the percentage of single-page visits or visits in which the person left your site from the entrance (landing) page. This metric is used to measure visit quality. A high bounce rate generally indicates that site entrance pages aren’t relevant to your visitors.
