In case you want to transmit a confidential message to someone in your private squad, then ThisMessageWillSelfDestruct is a nice web app to help you do it the right way. This web app creates a self destructing message which can be password protected and which gets stored in form of a URL. The message gets destructed as soon as it is second time. This means that the message can be accessed just once.

To start using ThisMessageWillSelfDestruct you don’t have to do any sort of registration. Simply go to www.ThisMessageWillSelfDestruct.com and type your message in the text box. There is no characters limit and you can type in anything you want to be securely sent. Once you have typed your message, you may add a password. This is not necessary but will give you additional security. Next, select ‘I accept the Terms of Services’ and click ‘Save this Message’. You will be given a URL where your recipient can read your message.

Send this URL to your recipient and communicate the password verbally. Your recipient will be able to read your message by entering the password.

This tool is pretty useful especially when there is a chance that your competitors may track your conversations. So play cool and use ThisMessageWillSelfDestruct to defy your competitor’s bad intentions.

Try www.ThisMessageWillSelfDestruct.com

You may sometimes need to send out some important e-mails. While it is easy to send out an e-mail, it is hard to know whether the recipient ever looked at your e-mail or it just went unnoticed by the recipient. Recently, I discovered a fantastic web service which tracks your sent e-mails and notifies you when the recipient opens your e-mail.

Named as WhoReadMe, it is a free Web-based service which lets you link your e-mail account with it and allows you to send e-mails that can be tracked. Using this web service is pretty easy and very straightforward. You can simply go to the webpage and complete the registration process to begin sending out e-mails that can be tracked.

Once you have registered and confirmed your e-mail, you can log into your WhoReadMe account and click on ‘send e-mail’ button to send out e-mails. You can enter your display name and choose from one of your associated e-mails. This e-mail would be visible to the recipient as sender’s e-mail. WhoReadMe also allows you an option to add attachments and even track them.

Once you have filled out the necessary details of your e-mail and attached the necessary files, you can click on the send button to send it. Once the recipient opens your e-mail, you will get an e-mail from WhoReadMe which will contain the necessary details about when your e-mail was opened, the time your attachments were downloaded, the IP from which your e-mail was accessed, etc.

Try WhoReadMe

Many of the spam bots are out there in the social media networks and they generally gather email by searching for ‘@’ symbols. I have already written about Scr.im service which lets you protect your email address by providing a short and secure URL for your email. However, most of the forums do not allows posting links (URLs) and thus this service proves futile over there.

Another very cool option of securing email is by coding it into an image file. This will prevent your email from being crawled into search engines and also from the spam bots. TxtNinja is a free online service that helps you in the process. It converts your text into a GIF image with customizable fonts and color and provides you a direct link to the image and also an embed code for embedding the image into forums, blogs, etc.

The only downside of TxtNinja is that the choice of fonts and colors are very limited and they are not the common web fonts either.

Try TxtNinja

Public WiFi spots can prove hazardous in case you are utilizing them to send emails. When you send an email over a public WiFi network, you create opportunities for hackers to hack your account and get your valuable data. It should be kept in mind that WiFi spots are built for the sake of public convenience and not for security. So does that mean that you cannot send secure emails over a public WiFi network? No it is not so. You can surely send secure emails over a public WiFi network by using a free online service named Secrets.

In a sentence, Secrets is a free online service that lets you send encrypted emails. Using Secrets is very easy. Just login with your Gmail account and enter your details. Once you have logged in, click on the ‘compose’ button and type the email address of the recipient and the message and finally, click on the ‘Encrypt and Send button’. A Windows will pop-up asking you to create a password. This password should be told to your recipient via other communication medium like SMS, telephone, etc. The recipient will need to enter this password for decrypting your email.

Secrets uses 64 bit DES encryption logarithm by default which can be changed other algorithms such as Triple DES (128 bit), AES-Rijndael (up to 256 bit), Blowfish (up to 448 bit) and ArcFour (up to 2048 bit). You can choose anyone of the four algorithms for sending secured emails in public hotspots.

I have previously mentioned about JDVoiceMail which can be used to send voice mails by compressing it and reducing size of voice recording and at the same time, enhancing the voice quality. However, a major drawback with the software is that it is needed to be downloaded to your PC and used with an email client. Although it is very good for some, but for the most, it is a hassle to get an e-mail client set up with the JDVoiceMail utility. However by using the free service provided by Vocaroo, it really becomes hassle free for sending voice mails.

Vocaroo is a new service which allows you to record and send voice mails via email to your recipients without downloading any software. For sending a voice mail, you can go to Vocaroo website and click on the button labeled “Click to Record”. Once you click the button to record your voice, a window pops up saying to give permission to Vocaroo to access your microphone. Select ‘allow’ and start recording your voice. Once you are done with your voice recording, you can click on the ‘stop’ button. As soon as you click ‘stop’ button, you will see two options offering you two choices. You can click on “Send to Friend” to send voice mail to your friend by entering his and your email address.

You can also post the recorded voice to internet by selecting the option “Post on the Internet”. Once you select this option, you will be given a permalink to your recorded voice and a code that can be used to embed your voice to your webpages.

Vocaroo is free and can be used without any obligations. If you feel that Vocaroo is something what you have always been looking for, go to Vocaroo website and start using the free service.

If you have ever tried to send your recorded voice via e-mail you must have faced one of the two problems. Firstly, you could not compress the recording to the desired level and it was thus very bulky to send via email. Secondly, even if you were able to compress your voice recording to the desired level, it becomes a hassle for your recipient to open it from the other end.The same problem was being faced by me until I discovered JDVoiceMail v2.53 GUI.

JDVoiceMail v2.53 GUI is a software that allows you to record your voice and send your voice clippings to your recipients as any other e-mail attachment. JDVoiceMail v2.53 GUI is a small software with very few self explanatory buttons. Using JDVoiceMail v2.53 GUI, users can record their voice. Once recorded, you can send your voice clippings to an email recipient as an e-mail attachment or you can save the file on your hard disk for sending later.

As far as configuration options are concerned, there are few compressor codecs that you can select from. I would suggest a MP3 medium quality codec with 20 kBps compression rate which is good enough for most of your needs.

The most important feature of this utility is that it can reduce your audio clipping’s size by upto 16 times without comprising the audio quality. Thanks to the power codecs that perform the compression task so effectively. The file size is reduced to size of any normal document that could easily be sent via e-mail. For instance, depending on the codec selection, the audio clip consumes less than 50kB for a 30 second voice message and it can be easily sent to crowds without jamming their email accounts.

The audio clips created using JDVoiceMail v2.53 GUI is stored in form of .wav or .MP3 files which can be played by most of the players including VLC player and Windows Media Player.

The best part, the software is free for life and occupies less than 2 MB on your hard disk. It is compatible with almost all e-mail clients and windows OS including windows vista. If you feel this software is what you are looking for, go ahead download it now by clicking here.

This has happened to me many a times and it is really very embarrassing. But if you are a GMail user you can be saved from such an embarrassing situation now. The GMail labs in now offering you with a feature to undo sent e-mail within 5 seconds from the time when your email was send out.

Actually, when you press the send button, GMail takes 2 or 3 seconds processing time to deliver the messages to your recipient. Now, when you send an email, Google will generate an undo link within few seconds that you can use to undo sent e-mail messages within 5 seconds.

After five seconds time limit, the ‘undo’ link will disappear and you will not be able to undo sent messages. Now the email will be delivered to your recipient.

How to set “undo email” option:
